Imprisonment

You’ve
locked yourself up
in a jail of anger
invisible
a prisoner
to your fuel of fury
a court with no jury

Sadness swells
deep within me
as I’m unsure
how to set you free

‘Cos you’ve
locked yourself up
a companion of self-destruction
ignorant and oblivious
to how it destroys me.

I wrote this last year – it came from turmoil under my roof and this was my route to relief. My sister found it today amongst her stuff and I was compelled to edit and post it. Thank you for the inspiration, Z! xXx
