Crevices Deep

Some freewriting tonight because some words are feeling louder than others.

In her deepest crevices, she cries. And although they watch the tears fall, they won’t see them; not because they can’t, but because they don’t want to.

In her deepest crevices, she screams. And although they hear her howls, they won’t listen to them; not because they can’t, but because they don’t want to.

In her deepest crevices, she crumbles. And although she becomes a heap at their feet, they won’t collect the shards; not because they can’t, but because she’s bearing their scars. And they don’t want to.
