  • LaYinka is featured in the Chaptersodes project, where several micro stories are converted into 15 second videos. Check them out on Facebook, here.
  • LaYinka will be hosting Pen Powered Mic II on 1st August, God-willing.

  • LaYinka performed an exclusive poem at Pen Powered Mic I: I am a Woman.
  • LaYinka organised and hosted a live women-only online literary event on 31st May – Pen Powered Mic I.

October 2012

  • Wealth Surrounds Me II, a folk-style poem, will be published in the January 2013 edition of SISTERS. An audio version might be posted on this blog too.
  • LaYinka will be writing pieces of flash fiction to exclusively appear in SISTERS. Titles will be posted here, but if you’re a subscriber, keep your eyes peeled for them in the re-instated Voices section.

September 2012

  • The touching article, Dirty was published in the September edition of SISTERS.

April 2012

  • LaYinka’s article titled Dirty is scheduled to be published in the September edition of SISTERS magazine. It’s a deep piece that will be the opening article for a series of articles focusing on taboo topics in the Muslim community. Definitely one to look out for.

March 2012

  • LaYinka’s personal narrative, I’m Not Perfect, was published in the March edition of SISTERS magazine. LaYinka labels the piece as ‘a confession of an upgraded mother’.
  • LaYinka is in the conceiving stages of a possible short story collection titled, From Tuesday. It will include a couple of the top-rated pieces found here, and others that LaYinka’s currently working on. Watch this space for news of progress!

December 2011

  • LaYinka led creative writing workshops at Olive Tree School in South-East London.
  • LaYinka delved back into writing non-fiction for publication. A personal piece entitled, I’m Sorry – I’m Not Perfect will be published in the March 2012 issue of SISTERS magazine.
